As Colorado’s largest homebuyer, we have purchased properties in many communities in Colorado. We’d like to tell you a little about why each one is special. Here’s a little “profile” on the community we have the most properties in: Aurora.
Aurora was originally founded as the town of Fletcher in 1891. It was originally only four square miles, a business investment of a man named Donald Fletcher. The town was renamed Aurora in 1907 and has since grown into a diverse city of 335,000 people over 154 square miles. Aurora’s self-proclaimed title, “All-American City,” is appropriate, as it has been home for many American soldiers throughout its history. It has an Army hospital (founded in 1918), Air Force Base (founded in 1938), and National Guard base (opened in 1942). Now, the Colorado Freedom Memorial, dedicated in 2013 to honor Colorado service men and women that have lost their lives defending our country, is a permanent reminder and landmark of Aurora.
