In addition to SHOE4AFRICA and Prairie Middle School we posted about before, we are proud to partner with the Diar Foundation and the Overland High School Cross Country team on this Flip or Education.
Originally called Women Who Grow, the Diar Foundation was started with by Karak Denyok, a refugee from Sudan. Karak’s vision is to be able to help women who have been widowed or otherwise affected by wars in Sudan and Uganda. The funds raised for the Diar Foundation will help with teaching vocational training, self-care, life skills, and literacy. The Flip for Education will support women in both South Sudan and in Central Uganda provide for themselves and their families. Doug Perry has met personally with Karak and has been supporting this cause for some time. When the opportunity came to decide on recipients for our Flip for Education, we knew that this cause was one we wanted to support both now and in the future.
Bruce Olsen, a teacher and friend of Doug’s, is a middle school track coach who cares a great deal for his students, past and present. Bruce made us aware that some of his former students, now on Overland High School cross-country team, did not have running shoes and could not attend some of their meets. The Flip for Education will help cover the cost of shoes, travel, and other expenses that may keep students from participating. Supporting local schools and students strengthens our community and our future. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Overland High School Cross Country Team.
All four beneficiaries of the Flip for Education are great institutions working hard to improve the lives of those in need. This flip is our way of giving back to our local and international community through high caliber organizations. We know there are so many great causes out there, and we look forward to continuing to give back whenever have a chance. Everyone here at The Buy-Out Company is excited about this project and ready to work hard to make this house and this flip amazing.
